Welcome to Avon and welcome to Team Trendy – we are so happy to have you!
I have dedicated this page to you: tips and helpful guidelines to help you get started as a new Avon Representative.
We also have a Facebook page for more interaction, Team Trendy Avon.

***Place an order EVERY submit date, even if it just for supplies!  Your order must be at least $50 to earn from your sales. Your earnings = customer price (minus) YOUR Avon cost; Avon does NOT send a check for your earnings.***

Getting Started with Avon


Step 1:  Register at www.youravon.com

  • Click on Register Now
  • Enter your District number
  • Enter your Account number
  • Enter the last 4 digits of your SSN
  • Create a password (You will need your Account # and password each time you sign in)
  • You will be prompted to become an e-Rep; with e-Rep you can import contacts, sell online 24/7, and invoicing your customers a breeze! (Check out the [eRep] tab above for more information and tips.)


Step 2:  Label your brochures with your name and ordering information.

Order by: 8/21     Valid through:   9/14
You will be able to find your website address in youravon.com under the Web Office tab. 

For "Order by" date, I use one day before my submit date. For "Valid through," I use one day before the submit date 2 campaigns later because we can order back 2 campaigns for sales pricing and items.


Step 3:  Start training!  

On www.youravon.com, there are great trainings available under the Training tab.  This will help you get familiar with www.youravon.com, your Avon eRep website, selling, recruiting, product information, and other great topics.  You should also check your email for local Avon trainings and sales meetings.

  • PLEASE, PLEASE - Please be sure to take the course “Placing Your First Order.” You will find it in the course catalogue under “New Representative.”


Step 4:  Work on your “Who do You Know?” list and prepare to sell, share and show.  

On www.youravon.com, check out the Campaign Tools tab where you can find campaign planning information on the 5 key brochure elements to grow your sales.  Find those items in your brochure, and make note of different sales – my customers love when I give them a book and I have bookmarked pages on things I know they like or think they might like based on past purchases/conversation.  On the www.youravon.com home page, the bottom right hand corner will have a link for Incentive Updates – these are fun incentives for Avon reps to earn extra bonuses and awards.

Step 5:  Set your goals!! 

How can you measure success if you haven’t set expectations?  Have a clear goal for every campaign of what you want for your earnings.  Do you want to earn just enough to pay for your own Avon products?  Do you want to create your own team and become a Sales Leader?  Do you want to achieve Presidents Circle?  Write it down! Write down your goal and your plan to get there. Imagine an average order size of $30…how many customers do you need to reach your goal?  How many leads can you receive from your own contacts?  What else can you do to surpass and surprise yourself?  Remember, your order must be at least $50 for you to see earnings.



Step 6:  The Fortune is in the Follow up!  

Make sure you receive contact information for every person you hand a brochure to.  Did you get asked for a brochure from someone while you were out shopping?  Give the brochure, ASK for contact information and how and when the person can best be reached.  Your customers are holding your paycheck – and most people that take a brochure WANT to buy but fail to come back to you.  If you reach out to them, they will be happy you reminded them.


Extra Tip:  Open a Separate Bank Account  

When mixing money, it is very easy to get off track between what is Avon money, and what is personal money.  Keeping a separate account helps show you what you have earned, and makes paying Avon bills more simple.  I use mine for Avon ordering, advertising, mailing brochures and anything else Avon related.  Keep it simple.


ALWAYS PLACE AN ORDER!!  EVEN IF IT'S LATE, BE SURE TO HAVE THE SALES TOOLS YOU NEED FOR NEXT CAMPAIGN, AND KEEP YOUR ACCOUNT ACTIVE.
